Maharashtra Board/MSBSHSE Update: Average marks allotted to Class 10th Geography Exam.

Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education  (MSBSHSE) has released an official notification stating that the board will be awarding average marks to the Class 10th students for their Geography Examination. Geography Paper was postponed amid lock-down due to corona-virus pandemic. For more detailed information, students can visit the official website of MSBSHSE i.e.


Shakuntala Kale, Chairperson Maharashtra state Board stated “The committee which was constituted to take a decision on the issue has decided to allot average scores to the students for the Geography paper.”

As per the reports examination for pending Vocational Subjects have been cancelled.  These examination are conducted for the Children with special needs. As the board they will also be allotted average marks in their respective subject.  The allotment of the average marks will be done by calculating the average marks obtained in the other subjects.

This exam was earlier scheduled on 23rd March 2020. The state board had decided to cancel the examinations on 13th April 2020. However the results are said to be declared by the second week of June 2020.

Other states have rescheduled the pending board exams for Class 10th and 12th but Maharashtra Board is unable to do so. Maharashtra is worst hit by corona-virus hence state is no condition to conduct the examinations as of now. Currently Maharashtra has the highest number of corona cases in India i.e 54,758 confirmed cases, 1,792 deaths and 17918 recovered cases (as on 28th May 2020).
